Uruguay Socio- Environmental Fund
The Uruguay Socio-Environmental Fund was created to provide financial and technical support to civil society initiatives in Uruguay that seek to address, from the communities and using their knowledge and strength, the main current and potential damages to the environment, climate change, and the deterioration of the quality of life, as well as to explore new paths of production and consumption from an eco-dependent, gender, ethnic-racial and environmental justice perspective.
MONETARY SUPPORT
We support organizations, movements, collectives, and social groups quickly and effectively, based on mutual trust, transparency, and flexibility.
We invest in specific and strategic actions that enable these initiatives to overcome obstacles due to lack of resources or knowledge.
Our guiding principle is that money reaches communities when it is needed.
Some examples Purchase of materials for outreach and visibility actions. Hiring experts (lawyers, economists, biologists, etc.) for specific actions. Support for holding strategic meetings related to collective initiatives.
BANK OF SERVICES
We facilitate coordination, cooperation, and collective action among initiatives that occur around a similar theme or in the same territory;
We manage links with the media and public policy makers;

PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES
¿Se puede recibir el dinero en efectivo?
No. Solo se realizan transferencias virtuales.
¿El dinero se recibe en pesos o en dólares? ¿Qué cuenta es necesaria tener?
El dinero se recibe en pesos uruguayos. Es necesario tener una cuenta bancaria en un banco de Uruguay.
Mi organización es nueva y recién comenzamos a realizar actividades. ¿Podemos aplicar a un apoyo?
Sí. No hay un mínimo de años de actividad. Los apoyos se otorgarán en función de las propuestas y la disponibilidad de fondos.
¿Las transferencias pueden ir a personas particulares?
Sí. Además del/la titular de la cuenta bancaria, deberá tener el aval de dos personas más de la organización.
¿El pago se divide en distintos envíos?
El dinero se recibe completo en una única transacción.
¿Puedo solicitar apoyo técnico y monetario al mismo tiempo?
Sí. Siempre que haya disponibilidad de fondos y equipo voluntario en el Banco de Servicios, las organizaciones podrán solicitar ambos apoyos.
¿Es necesario el registro como ONG para recibir dinero?
No es necesario.
¿Puedo solicitar dinero más de una vez?
Sí. Siempre y cuando se haya enviado el reporte de acciones sobre los resultados obtenidos con el apoyo monetario otorgado anteriormente.
¿Quién financia al fondo?
El fondo está financiado por donantes particulares y diversas fundaciones privadas.
¿Cómo se toman las decisiones de financiación dentro del fondo?
Las decisiones de financiación las toma un comité de evaluación conformado por el equipo del Fondo y asesores externos de acuerdo a los criterios detallados en el sitio.
¿Cómo se solicita el apoyo del Fondo?
Completando dos formularios: el del Observatorio Socioambiental y la solicitud de apoyo.
